Gems pay for generation in Mochi. **Rendering a 15-second scene costs 30 Gems—US$3 at the reference rate of 10 Gems per US$1.** ## What is the difference between Gems, coins, and VIP? | Product | What it’s for | | --------- | ------------------------------------------------- | | **Gems** | Scene generation and other quoted creator actions | | **Coins** | Episode unlocks | | **VIP** | Membership benefits shown for your plan | Most community series are **free to watch**. Coins unlock paid episodes; they do not pay for generation and **cannot be converted into Gems**. A Gem pack is a one-time purchase, not a VIP subscription. Check the Gem amount and local price on your current store purchase screen; a cash-price estimate does not confirm a particular Gem pack. **VIP memberships are being reworked.** Check the plan details shown in Mochi for availability and benefits. Don’t assume every membership includes the same Gem allowance or free rendering. Use the benefits for the plan you purchased and any arrangement already agreed with Support. If an included benefit appears missing, Support can review that plan and its credit history. A one-time settlement does not automatically create a recurring allowance. ## What is free and what uses Gems **Making a rendered AI anime episode isn’t free.** Mochi uses **Seedance 2.0** for scene generation, which has a processing cost. Each new render or re-render generates new video and uses Gems. | Rendered footage | Gems | USD reference cost | | ----------------------------------- | ---- | ------------------ | | One 15-second scene | 30 | $3 | | Three 15-second scenes (45 seconds) | 90 | $9 | | Four 15-second scenes (60 seconds) | 120 | $12 | An episode requires completed renders in scene slots **1, 2 and 3**. The examples above cover one render per scene. Re-renders, character and location artwork, posters, paid packs, on-demand music and HD downloads can add to the total. Standard **Finish episode** assembles completed scenes without an additional Gem charge; the scene renders still cost Gems. These USD figures are reference equivalents, not a promise of a particular store pack price. Check your store currency, pack price and the in-app quote before paying. ## How can I avoid unnecessary Gem spending? * Review the script, cast, selected looks and location before rendering. * Start with a small cast and one clear action per scene. * Use **Trim** to shorten footage you already have. * Use **Versions → Restore** when an available earlier take works better. * Check every generation quote before confirming. Saving an edit, trimming a clip and restoring an available scene take don’t generate new footage. Re-rendering does. ## HD downloads **HD applies only to downloaded videos.** It’s an optional paid output choice and doesn’t upgrade playback inside Mochi or through your share link. Review the separate quote before choosing it. ## Manage a membership For an existing subscription, use the store that bills you.
