# Create your first episode

Create your first AI anime episode in MochiTV. Plan scenes with Coach, review characters, render clips and finish your episode.

Turn your story idea into an AI anime episode. Rendering costs **30 Gems (US$3) per 15-second scene**. An episode needs at least three rendered scenes; see [Gems and pricing](/gems-vip-and-rewards/gems-coins-and-vip.md) to plan your budget.

## Create and finish your first Mochi episode

1. Open **Create → Start a new series**.
2. Describe your story in the series’ **Coach** chat.
3. Review the proposed script, characters and locations.
4. Build and render one scene at a time.
5. Complete the renders in scene slots **1, 2 and 3**.
6. Use **Preview episode** to check the sequence, then choose **Finish episode**.

Extra scenes are optional. Don’t leave an unrendered gap before later footage. A public series also needs a poster.

## Coach and support

Use **Coach** for story ideas, scene changes and generation proposals. Review the scene card and Gem quote before approving a render. Check the scene’s status to see whether generation has started.

For account or technical help, use [Account and support](/help-and-account/account-and-support.md).

## Plan and render a scene

Give each scene one main action or exchange. Before rendering, check **Script**, **Cast in this scene** and **Location** together. Select the intended character looks; naming an outfit in the script doesn’t select it.

Choose **Render this scene**, then watch the whole clip with sound. AI-generated footage can vary from your instructions, so review each take before moving on.

To adjust a take you already have:

* **Trim → Save trim** shortens the existing clip.
* **Versions → Browse earlier renders → Restore** brings back an available take.
* **Re-render** generates new footage and uses Gems again.

## What are packs, and what do they change?

Packs guide your series’ look, world, story, tone or sound. Open a pack, read its description and price, then choose **Add to series**.

You can have one active Look, World, Sound and Heat choice at a time. Story directions can be combined. Changing a pack doesn’t replace existing artwork or rendered footage. A free pack doesn’t include scene rendering.

## Finish an episode and continue a draft

Before finishing, review scene order and audio with **Preview episode**. Music is optional; see [Music, speech and captions](/create-and-publish/music-speech-and-captions.md).

Finishing assembles the scenes you’ve already rendered. For a public series, it publishes the episode. **HD is an optional paid download upgrade**; it doesn’t upgrade in-app or shared playback.

To keep working on an unfinished episode, open that draft’s own episode row.

To edit a finished episode, choose **Edit episode → Reopen**. For a public series, the published version stays live until you finish again. If you made no edits, use **Close · no changes** when offered.
