# How to make your own AI anime series with MochiTV

Learn how to make your own AI anime series with MochiTV, from a story idea and characters to rendered scenes and your first published episode.

MochiTV helps you turn a story idea into an AI anime series. You direct the story, review characters and scenes, and decide which footage to publish.

## Bring your story to life

Traditional animation takes specialist teams, substantial budgets and long production schedules. That can put a personal project out of reach.

Mochi uses AI generation to make starting smaller more accessible. Whether you’ve carried a story for 15 years or just imagined your first character, begin with one short episode and build from there.

AI still takes creative direction and iteration. You choose the story, check the results and shape the final episode.

## Is making an AI anime episode free?

**No. Rendering costs 30 Gems (US$3) per 15-second scene.** Mochi uses Seedance 2.0 for video generation, and each render or re-render has a generation cost.

An episode needs at least **3 rendered scenes**. Three 15-second scenes cost **90 Gems (US$9)** for one render each. Character artwork, locations, posters, paid packs and optional extras can add to that total.

These are USD reference equivalents. Check your store’s Gem pack price and each in-app quote. [Learn how Gems work](/gems-vip-and-rewards/gems-coins-and-vip.md).

## 1. Start with one short episode

Choose one clear situation, a small cast and an ending that makes viewers want the next episode.

For example: a rookie courier discovers that her package predicts the future. The first episode could show the delivery, reveal its power and end with a difficult choice.

## 2. Create a series and explain your idea

Open **Create → Start a new series** and describe your idea in the series’ **Coach** chat.

> Help me plan an anime episode about a rookie courier in a rainy futuristic city. Her delivery predicts the future. Focus on the delivery, the discovery and her decision. Show me the plan before rendering.

You don’t need a finished script to begin. Review Coach’s proposed script and references before approving generation.

## 3. Review characters and scenes

Check the character images, selected looks and locations. Give each scene one main action or exchange.

Before rendering, review **Script**, **Cast in this scene** and **Location** together. Naming an outfit in the script doesn’t automatically select that look.

[Learn about characters and scenes](/create-and-publish/characters-and-scenes.md).

## 4. Render, watch and refine

Check the Gem quote and approve the scene render. Watch the complete clip with sound.

Keep a take that works, trim it if needed, or restore an available earlier version. If you want different footage, revise the setup before paying for a new render.

AI-generated video can vary from your instructions. Smaller casts and focused scenes are easier to direct.

## 5. Preview and finish

Complete the renders in scene slots **1, 2 and 3**. Additional scenes are optional; don’t leave an unrendered gap before later footage.

Use **Preview episode** to check the sequence and audio. Add background music if you want it. A public series also needs a poster.

Finish the episode, then share its link or download a copy. **HD is an optional paid upgrade for downloads only**; it doesn’t change in-app playback.

[Follow the detailed first-episode guide](/get-started/create-your-first-episode.md).

## 6. Continue your series

Return to the same series for the next episode. Reuse the intended character looks and locations, and review each new proposal for continuity.

For unfinished work, open that draft’s own episode row.
